In France, the concept of heritage is interpreted somewhat more broadly during the Journ\u00e9es du Patrimoine, held this year on September 21 and 22. Naturally, the most prominent buildings are free to visit on those days, but if you are in France that weekend, be sure to seek out locations that are normally closed to the public.
