On November 20, 2025, as on the third Thursday of November every year, wine enthusiasts worldwide celebrate the arrival of the new Beaujolais Nouveau vintage. <\/strong><\/p>\n Did you know that Beaujolais wine is deeply rooted in French history? The origins of the French wine event Beaujolais Nouveau vin primeur lie in a practical regulation from the early 20th century. Until 1951, French wines could only be sold after a set date. This was primarily related to the provisioning of the army (!). <\/p>\n Thanks to lobbying by winegrowers from Beaujolais, an exception was made for this wine in 1951. Since 1985, the official release date of the wine has been fixed as the third Thursday in November. This gave rise to a tradition of celebration and conviviality, which is observed both locally and internationally. <\/p>\n Beaujolais Nouveau is made from the Gamay grape. It undergoes rapid fermentation and is bottled shortly after the harvest. The result is a light, accessible wine with a lively fruity flavor, ideal for immediate consumption. <\/p>\n In the Beaujolais region, winegrowers open their doors on this day for festive tastings, where the new vintage is celebrated exuberantly.
