Paris tip: the largest mosque in France

Did you know that during a visit to Paris, you can find yourself in a completely different world in just a few steps? Located near the famous Jardin des Plantes is the Grande Mosquée de Paris.

The Grande Mosquée de Paris is the largest mosque in France. It was opened in 1926 to honor the struggle of French Muslim soldiers during the First World War. The mosque is a stunning example of Moorish architecture, featuring lush gardens, a 33-meter-high minaret, and delicate mosaics.

Be sure to step inside (please note the prayer times) and admire the serene courtyard with its pond. The garden is perfect for a moment of tranquility. We highly recommend taking a seat in the café to enjoy one of the Moroccan delicacies and some tea.

It is an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while before continuing your discovery of Paris.
