Paris tip: books and tranquility

Many tourists are unfamiliar with it: Parc Georges Brassens. It is a place to stroll through, especially on weekends when there is a second-hand book market.

In the southwest of Paris, you will find a charming park on the site of what was once a slaughterhouse. Today, it is a peaceful green space with ponds and statues, and there is even a vineyard. The tower of the old market hall still watches over the area.

Parc Georges Brassens is named after the famous French singer, who lived just a stone’s throw away from this location for much of his life.

Every Saturday and Sunday, a book market is held here at the old marketplace on the edge of the park. From antique books and old maps to modern literature: enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy. Even if you are not looking for a specific book, it is wonderful to browse among the stalls.
