If you are lucky, you naturally say: j’ai de la chance! But there are many other ways to express your luck. Here are 12 of them.

- J’ai de la veine! / Je suis en veine! (veine: luck, fluke, fortune)
- J’ai du bol! / J’ai eu un coup de bol! (bol: luck)
- Je suis née sous une bonne étoile! (literally: I was born under a lucky star)
- Je suis né(e) avec une cuillère en argent dans la bouche! (literally: I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth)
- Je suis vernie/veinarde! (vernie: varnished / veinarde: lucky devil)
- Je suis né(e) coiffé(e)! (literally: I was born with styled hair)
It is better not to use the following expressions yourself, especially if you are still learning the language. However, you will now be able to recognize them:
- J’ai le cul bordé de nouilles! (slang, literally: My backside is lined with noodles)
- J’ai du cul! (slang, literally: I have an ass)
- J’ai la baraka! (slang, literally: I have luck)
