Save the date

There is always something to do in France. This time, we are highlighting an event that is celebrated worldwide but originated in France, where it is always just a bit more special: la Fê te de la Musique. Naturally, we also cannot overlook the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Every year on June 21, France celebrates la Fête de la Musique. In the evenings, various musical groups perform in the streets for everyone to enjoy (usually free of charge). If you are in one of the major cities, wander around and let yourself be surprised by almost every musical genre. Some concerts in special locations—such as the Louvre in Paris—require advance reservation.

The first Fête de la Musique took place on June 21, 1976, in eastern Paris and Toulouse. Since 2011, the festival has been celebrated internationally, but of course, you will not find it as authentically French as in France itself.
