France in your ears

There’s nothing better to keep up with your French than hearing a lot of French. This is easy if you tune in to a French radio station.

You can easily find and listen to all French channels via, for example Online Radio Box or Ecouter radio en ligne . There are also apps for international channels on your smartphone. You can also listen to the radio on their own site (often click on ‘en direct’).

But how do you find a nice channel? Below are 5 recommendations.

France Inter is the current affairs channel of France, with not only news, but also music, radio games.

Nostalgia FM , the name actually says it all: all kinds of music from past times, near and far away.

Bee NRJ (stands for energy) find French Top 40 music (not all French). Little is said about it, by the way. Be sure to also listen to the digital radio station NRJ Chanson French .

FIP is from the public Radio France and you will find a wide variety of music genres from jazz to folk-pop to world music. Not all French-speaking either.

Radio Nova – le grand mix – is the alternative radio station from Paris. You tune in for a mix of soul, indie-pop, rock and electro (not all in French).
